Write the condition to be satisfied by p/q so that a rational number has a terminating decimal expansion.
Quadrataic Equation
For what value of k the quadratic equation x2 - kx + 4 = 0 has equal roots?
Polynomial
The sum and product of the zeroes of a quadratic polynomial are - ½ and -3 repectively. What is the quadratic polynomial?
Ans:
sum = α + β = -b/a = -1/2 , so b/a=1/2
product = αβ=- c/a = -3 = -6/2
So a=2,b=1,c=-6
2x2+x-6

From the top and foot of a tower 40m high, the angle of elevation of the top of a light house is found to be 30° and 60° respectively. Find the height of the lighthouse. Also find the distance of the top of the lighthouse from the foot of the tower.
Linear Equations
Form a pair of linear equations in two variables using the following information and solve it graphically. Five years ago, Sagar was twice as old as Tiru. Ten year later Sagar’s age will be ten years more than Tiru’s age. Find their present ages. What was the age of Sagar when Tiru was born?

A circle touches the side BC of a Triangle ABC at a point P and touches AB and AC when produced at Q and R respecively. Show that AQ = ½(Perimeter of Triangle ABC)
Tangents
Construct a circle whose radius is equal to 4cm. Let P be a point whose distance from its centre is 6cm. Construct two tangents to it from P.
Quadaratic
Find he value of k so that the following quadratic equation has equal roots: 2x2 - (k -2) x+1 =0
Rational Numbers
Show that 3+5√2 is an irrational number.
Speed and Velocity
If a student had walked 1km/hr faster, he would have taken 15 minues less to walk 3 km. Find the rate at which he was walking.
X Power 4
What are the quotient and the remainder, when 3x4 + 5x3 - 7x2 + 2x + 2 is divided by x2 + 3x + 1?

History of CBSE

What is the meaning of CBSE:The Central Board of Secondary Education is an eminent board of school education in India. The CBSE prepares the syllabus for Class 9 to Class 12 in schools affiliated with it. It conducts two major examinations every year, the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) for Class 10 and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for Class 12, which is a school-leaving examination. Many private schools within and outside India are affiliated to CBSE. The medium for education prescribed by CBSE is either English or Hindi. The CBSE also conducts the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) which is a common entrance examination conducted on all-India basis for admission to engineering and architecture/planning programmes in the country. Similarly Pre-medical and Pre-dental Tests AIPMT (PMT/PDT) are conducted for medical and dental colleges. Syllabus and methodology of CBSE makes it much convenient for students to opt for pure sciences, medicines, engineerings and IIT. Most successful students of competitive examinations,IITJEE, KVPY, science olympiads, mathematics olympiads are nurtured at CBSE.
HISTORY OF CBSE:The "United Provinces Board of High School and Intermediate Education" was the first Board set up in 1921 with jurisdictions over Rajputana, Central India and Gwalior. The Government of India in 1929 suggested to set up a joint Board to expand the jurisdiction and renamed it the "Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana", which included Ajmer-Merwara. In 1952, as a result of the growth of State Universities and State Boards all over India, the constitution of Board was amended wherein its jurisdiction was extended to part-C and part-D territories and the Board was given its present name "Central Board of Secondary Education", it was in the year 1962 finally that the Board was reconstituted. There are a total of 10,011 schools in India, and outside India, affiliated to CBSE. As a result of the reconstruction, the Delhi Board of Secondary Education was merged with the Central Board and all the educational institutions recognised by the Delhi Board also became a part of the Central Board. The Board has grown from a group of 309 schools in 1962 to 10,011 schools as on date, which include 981 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 1381 Government Schools, 2486 Independent Schools, 355 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and 13 Adhoc Schools. There are also Indian schools in the Middle East and Southeast Asia that are affiliated to it.In most of countries Government of India employee's Children and Indian Embassy's children go to CBSE schools abroad generally called Indian Schools. In Japan Indian education under CBSE school has gained popularity. CBSE examinations for classes X and XII are conducted in the month of March and the first week of April. The results are declared in the last week of May mostly in 2-3 phases. These results can be seen on the official site. CBSE123.blogspot.com is mainly intended for 10 and 12 CBSE students.
